Insurance
Dr. Drozda accepts payments from some insurance and employee assistance program plans.
I make a "superbill" type receipt available to clients at the time of each session for their use in filing for health insurance benefits. Clients should be fully informed about the limitations and advantages of using health insurance to help pay for mental health care. While many plans offer some reimbursement for mental health care expenses, benefits are often limited. Clients are encouraged to read carefully the information on their mental health coverage supplied by their insurance carrier. Clients can then make better informed decisions about using insurance coverage. Using insurance may require that I be authorized to share confidential and possibly sensitive personal treatment information with insurance company personnel for review and payment. Reviews may result in denial of coverage according to the insurer's policies. Insurance often contains substantial exclusions on the types of conditions covered and limits on the number of sessions allowed. Many plans include annual deductibles and or co-payments which must be paid at the time service is rendered. Please check with your insurance carrier for complete information on the mental health benefits of your plan.
Many clients find that paying directly for a course of brief treatment is worth the added confidentiality and reduced administrative trouble. In addition, the costs of psychological treatment (including co-payments) may qualify for reimbursement under health spending account benefit plans offered by many employers. Check with your employer or plan administrator for details.
